LG enV3 in Maroon

I was wondering about the buy out of Alltel by Verizon. Does that mean that current Alltel customers will become Verizon customers? If so, when will this take place?

Most Alltel Wireless customers will be converted to Verizon Wireless in the upcoming months with no additional effort by the customer. However, as part of the regulatory approval process, a select number of ZIP codes in which both Alltel and Verizon Wireless offer service will not merge carriers. In other words, Alltel customers in those ZIP codes will remain Alltel customers unless they voluntarily change carriers (early termination fees may apply). For those of you that are in integrated ZIP codes, you can choose to keep your Alltel cell phone or purchase a Verizon Wireless device. If you choose to change to Verizon Wireless before the official conversion, you may face early termination fees from Alltel Wireless. Hope this helps.

Is there a way to purchase an application or something to put a better calendar on the LG ENV3? The only thing keeping me from this phone is the crappy calendar.

Can you change the background color of the menu of the LG enV3? Can you change the style of the menu?

  Re: Menu Color Jul 7th, 2009 0 Post(s) Reply You can change the style of the menu to either grid, list or tabs by selecting Display Settings from the Tools and Settings menu. Additionally, you can change the background color of the menu by choosing a new wallpaper. Take a picture of the color background you want and then set it as the wallpaper. Otherwise, you'll need to choose a predefined one in the Display Settings under Tools and Settings.

What is that particular application that syncs with Google Calendar? Is the synching tethered or over network?

This is something that is web based and cannot be done over the air. You would need a data Sync cable in order to get this application. It is available for free online.

Does this phone have to have the data package like you do with the blackberry? Because I don't want to pay for the data package each month, if so.

would sim card work on this phone? can i use the prepaid card instead of the service plan? Does prepaid card work outside the U.S.? Would a Chinese SIM card work on this phone when I take it back to China? thanks!

  Re: the phone Oct 19th, 2009 0 Post(s) Reply Hi, since you commented on several phones, would you mind if I answered all those comments here? This phone will not work with a Chinese sim. All Verizon and Sprint phones are CDMA phones, a few are CDMA/GSM combo phones. CDMA phones do not have sim cards and would be difficult to use overseas. If you really want to be on Verizon in the U.S. and be able to use the phone overseas, a CDMA/GSM phone would be best. The Blackberry Tour is an example of such a phone. AT&T and T-Mobile phones are GSM phones, meaning they take a sim card. These phones can be used in China provided they have the right band (look for quad-band phones). Since these are carrier subsidized phones, you'll also need to call the carrier for an unlock code or pay to get it unlocked in a shop. As for the Chinese character display and input, most phones would not support this unless they are reflashed. If this feature is important to you, consider getting a smartphone where you can tinker more with the language settings. To have full compatibility, sometimes it would be necessary to have the entire interface in Chinese. I have had this problem before. Hope this helps.
